EcoGuides
give you an overall vision on special ecological tourism
areas inside Brazil, like national parks, warm waterfalls,
tropical savanna (cerrados), rivers, lots of wild
fauna, caves with rivers crossing underground, historical
and natural hotspots, as well as archeological sites
in protected areas, the Pantanal wetlands and the
environment problems. The idea is to show it with lot
of pictures, little movies, high-tech GPS files, simplified
maps and text by professional press people, who visited
the areas by ourselves.
You start navigation the way you want: just choose
your EcoGuide in the left column menu - youll
get to its ENTRY
page, with some general info. You can, for instance,
go on to the ITINERARY,
with the towns from where most of the roads and trails
begin. It takes you to the ECOPOINTS,
divided into areas such as WATER
(falls, rivers, lakes, springs, etc), FAUNA
and FLORA (lots of pictures), landscapes and sometimes
CAVES
and other special features of each region, like HISTORY
or ARCHEOLOGY
data, indian lands and so. You can know better the
region going into the legally PROTECTED
LAND (national and local parks, reserves,
national and extractives forests, etc). Looking at
the MAPS
you get sketches that orient you getting where you
want to. In MAPS area you also find (in guides produced
more recently) the state-of-art in traveling: the
GPS
files with geographic coordinates, trails, tracks,
routes and waypoints with latitude, altitude and longitude
for the EcoGuides. You can download these files, then
use them in your Global Positioning Sistem(GPS) devices
when you go traveling. It takes you where most people
cant go easily. Least but not last, the IMAGES
area, with hundred of original PICTURES
of nature and a few 15 seconds internet MOVIES
in mpeg format. Looking at TIPS
youre supposed to find useful information for
travelers, such as Tourist Reception Offices, Municipalities
services, phone numbers, sites, some hotels (and lots
of "pousadas", like small inn places) and
a few other key-data for people call or email before
go there. They´re organized by the same town
names listed in ITINERARY.
All connected thru the menus - the main one, at your
left and a few horizontal ones. In some EcoGuides
there is an AVALIATION
that leads to an overall view of the environment situation
around the ecopoints and the regions in Brazil. In
all the EcoGuides you find an area to send us YOUR
SUGGESTION back. Feel like lost? Please
send us your comments, suggestions, critics, information
on the places, whatever... Its an interactive
work. Always toward the main goal of environment preservation
with social justice, all over.
