With the largest volume of water of
any waterfall in the Central Planes, the Salto de Corumba
was rescued and re-established in the 1980's after centuries
of dormancy that was caused by an aqueduct the early
miners built to divert the waters of the Corumba
River.
It is located near the historical village
of Corumba
on highway BR-070, 150 km from Brasilia
and 120 km from Goiania. It has an infrastructure of
clubs and snack bars. Below the falls on a long stretch
of the river one can bathe in pools with large rocks
and trails which are somewhat difficult and dangerous.
There is a small entrance fee.
