Swallow
Waterfall is only 9 meter high, not much water, but
has such a magic beauty, maybe for being inside nice
woods in grooves on moutains close to colonial style
City of Goias, former province capital called Vila
Boa de Goias. This fall really hides hundreds of swallows
during right times of the year, in holes in its arenite
or soapstone rock formations, drawn by water for million
of years. To get there, being in City of Goiás,
you should drive to the city exit alongside the Santa
Barbara church (the highest up on the hill). Afeter
6 kilometers of non paved road there´s a crossing
point - take to the right to the waterfall. There
may be some sign - Cachoeira Andorinha, which is inside
a property called Fazenda (farm) Manduzanzan (African
name). It´s 500 meter more till the entrance,
where they ask you the payment of a visitation fee
(R$ 2 in 2002).The trail goes for another half kilometer
inside a nice wood, giving you an idea of the mountains
around, where the crystaline water pours down from.
In some of them, almost three centuries ago, gold
also used to come down the hills.
