The
image of a colonial city with many
trees
lining the streets and yards is the main landscape that
can be seen in the old capital of Goias. Up on the Moreira
one sees a beautiful view of the historical area and
opposite this, the city and the church of
Santa
Barbara at the bottom of the mountains. Special
views can be seen from the lookout trails (Morro da
Cruz). Landscapes of rare beauty are found in the hills
above town and on the colonial
road
to the historical towns of
Ferreiro
and Ouro Fino. At night the city is spectacularly lit
with romantic
colonial
lamps.
