The Fumaca (smoke/mist) is the highest and has the most difficult access of all the waterfalls in the Chapada. A trail leads to the top of the fall where the copper colored waters drop in a curtain of mist, which never reaches the ground due to evaporation.

One can take a two day hike via the valleys from Len

cois with a guide, or a day trip walking the dirt road from Palmeiras until you reach a neighborhood at the bottom of the hill. From there, a steep trail (one hour long) ascends to the falls. See map.
